Can Apple Watch Be Written Off As A Failure This Early In Its Product Cycle?

After Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) entered the smartwatch industry earlier this year via its Apple Watch, it was quickly followed by companies such as Motorola, and most notably its fiercest competitor Samsung Electronics Co. Ltd. (NASDAQ:SSNLF). The introduction of the Apple Watch did not generate the same amount of interest amongst users as the first iPhone or iPad, but this wasn't a surprise considering it was seen as nothing more than a fancy iPhone accessory.
